Worried that your sofa is making a noise? Does your sofa feel more firm to sit on than our display item? Have you had crunchy cushions? Well below you can learn about why these things can occur and what to do about it.
Your new sofa is made with a strong, durable wooden frame, being made from a natural product it therefore has its own characteristics. If you hear a slight creaking noise from your furniture this is completely normal, it may sound like something is wrong, but don't worry it's not something that should be repaired or needs support. The finished frame needs to be strong, yet flexible, to aid the sofa’s suspension system. This flexibility can cause some creaking or squeaking from time to time, as it flexes, however in time, with standard use, the wood will acclimatise to your home temperature and the surface will become smoother reducing the sound.
Is your sofa firmer than you expected? Well please do not worry, all of our cushions are filled with a medium-density, long lasting foam, to provide durability and longevity of your sofa. Over time the cushions will soften with use, but at first they will have a firmer feel to them.
A crunchy cushion can be a cause of concern, however this sound is being caused by the fire retardant coating on the reverse of the material and once they are being used by all the family you will find that the sound fades, meaning this is not a fault and is not something that needs to be repaired.
We hope that this helps and re-assures you, however if you still have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact us, we will be happy to assist.
